Lets make some NDIS magic!
1:1 Support Coordination Coaching
Support Coordination is the best, albeit tough gig. I offer a tailored and ongoing professional development investment in your Support Coordination staff (or you if you’re a Sole Trader) to work alongside them to navigate the intricacies of their professional role in a complex service environment. External supervision is semi-structured around the Support Coordination Practice Standards recently released by Disability Intermediaries Australia (DIA), coupled with your organisation’s values, goals and the individual goals and needs of staff.
What this typically involves:
§ Initial meet and greet with Support Coordination management staff. It’s important we become fast friends to ensure that supervision and line management complement one another.
§ Catch up with selected Support Coordination staff to unpack their current needs and goals
§ Frequency of sessions is based on your preference (and budget) – monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly etc (you get the picture)
§ We work together to provide a safe space for reflection, debriefing, challenging the status quo of their practice frameworks to build greater capacity and quality in what they can offer
1:1 Support Coordination Team Lead/Management Coaching
Your Management Staff are a vital cog in the Support Coordination service machine and so many are doing a bloody good job. They often carry the weight of complexity, act as a buffer when external or internal pressures are mounting, and quite often are also providing Support Coordination to several people at the same time. Que potential for burnout, compassion fatigue and little time or energy to support growth and innovation. Lets look to invest some space for them to unload and refresh, refine and strengthen their toolkit to effectively manage the daily demands of the role whilst also keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
What this typically involves:
§ Initial meet and greet with identified staff and their line manager, where we’ll get to know each other a little and determine some agreed needs and goals
§ Follow up with staff member to dive a little deeper and identify the current priorities
§ Frequency of sessions is based on your preference (and budget) – monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly etc (you get the picture)
§ We work together to provide a safe space for reflection, debriefing, challenging the status quo of their practice frameworks to build greater capacity and quality in what they can offer in the context of their role
Support Coordination Operational Efficiency review
Let’s try to shave off any unnecessary administrative overheads to free staff up to focus on what matters most - providing quality Support Coordination services to the people you serve and investing their time and efforts into your organisation.
What this typically involves:
§ I’ll facilitate an initial scoping and discovery session with your key stakeholders to identify agreed goals and outcomes, and dig a little deeper into the current operational status of your Support Coordination service
§ A comprehensive desktop review of your current systems, policies and process that relate to your day-to-day Support Coordination operations
§ A Support Coordination staff (and management) survey coupled with group/individual interviews to ascertain current pain points whilst harvesting their experience to inform potential recommendations that are realistic and fit for purpose. A little co-design typically leads to better and more sustainable outcomes
§ You’ll receive a virtual briefing (in person upon negotiation) alongside a complete report of my findings and recommendations
§ We can then discuss next steps (you may want some additional support to implement etc), and either way I’ll check in at the 6 month mark just to see how things are travelling
Support Coordination service provision health check
This is for the sole traders or providers that want to either validate their doing a top-notch job, or have an objective party offer some insights to consider areas that might need a freshen up or even something more creative and different.
What this typically involves:
§ I’ll facilitate an initial scoping session with you and other key stakeholders. Ideally this would include representation from your customer group (nothing about me without me, right). Together we’ll confirm some key objectives and have some fun determining a basic baseline of how you see the quality of your Support Coordination service
§ I’ll conduct a deep dive into your client records (a sample based on total amount of people you deliver a service to), including any feedback/complaints that have been received by participants or other stakeholders and assess them against the DIA Practice Standards, as well as the Disability Service Standards, NDIS rules and NDIS NQSC rules
§ With consent, I’ll interview (or survey) some of your staff, people you have previously or are currently working with and even a couple of key stakeholders to gain their views on your Support Coordination service. Any feedback will contribute to recommendations and overall evaluation report I write up
§ I’ll serve up my evaluation back to the original group (likely with some actual food) and support you to identify key next steps. This is the really fun part, although may possibly be a little confronting if you’re expecting only sunshine and rainbows!
§ If you want some additional support to plan and implement next steps and keep on track, we can chat about this then as well and keep the good times going
Sole Trader and Provider Coaching
Already have the information you need or know where you’d like to improve or do things differently, but would benefit from an external party getting things moving? Maybe you want to develop or refine your organisational flavour (aka model and/or practice framework) of Support Coordination, that aligns with your mission, values and the scope of the role without over promising and under delivering. Or maybe you’re just starting out and need someone in your corner to navigate what you need to do to establish your service offering and service model.
We really can’t be all things to all people, nor should we be. I can help you become super clear about what your service offering strengths are and how to maximise this in the interests of your business and the people you serve.
Sound like where you’re at? Cool, let’s chat. Just book in a discovery chat and we can discuss over a virtual coffee how I can add value to what have in mind.
Big picture and other fun projects
Have big goals to facilitate systemic change? Me too! Don’t have the capacity to get things moving? I get it.. Let me help.. My flavour of change is co-creation. I’d recommend booking a discovery chat so we can discuss in more detail the ideas or project you have in mind and we can go from there
